What We Do

Affinity Plus College was established in June 2022 by Jane Elderkin, a quality assurance, assessment, and moderation specialist with nearly two decades of experience across New Zealand’s tertiary and vocational education sector.

Through extensive work with tutors, assessors, moderators, and academic quality teams, Jane identified a recurring gap in the sector: while policy frameworks and theoretical models are widely available, educators often lack practical, fit-for-purpose guidance that supports confident assessment decisions, consistent moderation, and robust quality assurance practice.

Affinity Plus College was created to bridge this gap — providing hands-on workshops, adaptable tools, and applied learning grounded in real assessment contexts and aligned with NZQA expectations.

At Affinity Plus College, we deliver live workshops, quality assurance and moderation support, micro-courses, and practical digital tools for professionals working across NZ tertiary and vocational education, assessment, and quality assurance.

Our resources support you to:

  • Design and moderate assessments with clarity and consistency

  • Strengthen sustainable quality assurance and internal review systems

  • Improve audit and monitoring readiness

  • Embed continuous improvement practices without burnout

  • We focus on practical, relational, and culturally aware support - not just compliance. We turn complex moderation and assessment requirements into clear, usable tools.

We work alongside your team, tailor to your context, and prioritise quality, fairness, and sustainability.

  • We offer live and in-person workshops that help educators strengthen assessment, moderation, and quality assurance practice with practical tips, real-world examples, and ready-to-use tools.

You’ll also find digital resources like e-learning, checklists, templates, and guides to support your learning and implementation.

  • Our workshops are ideal for tertiary and vocational educators, assessors, moderators, academic managers, and quality assurance staff involved in assessment and moderation processes under the NZQA framework.
